The Leggett Campaign today released a list of 2,300 county leaders who have pledged their support to Ike Leggett in the September 12 Democratic primary election for County Executive in Montgomery County.

"There is no 'typical' Ike voter," said Sandra King- Shaw. "Ike's support list includes firefighters, carpenters, environmentalists, business leaders, current and former Council members and people who represent the ethnic diversity of Montgomery County's population," Ms. King- Shaw added.

"The one thing Ike's supporters do have in common is their desire to elect a leader who has demonstrated integrity and the ability to bring people together and govern by consensus," said Ngyuen Minh Chau.

“We want to maintain the quality of life in Montgomery County. Ike is the only candidate who understands the critical importance of managed growth for our county. We need an independent leader who is not beholden to any particular interest group. Ike fits the bill,” said Lewis Helm.

The list of organizations endorsing Ike Leggett for County Executive has grown recently to include the Municipal and County Government Employees Organization (MCGEO) ; the United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 400; Progressive Maryland; Montgomery College Democrats, Montgomery County Firefighters Association, the local chapter of Sierra Club, and the Montgomery County Green Democrats.

In addition, Former County Executives Neal Potter and Sid Kramer have endorsed Ike. Councilmembers Marilyn Praisner, Tom Perez, Phil Andrews and Mike Subin have also endorsed Ike. Former Councilmembers Bruce Adams, Blair Ewing, William Sher and Bill Hanna have endorsed Ike Leggett for County Executive.
